Rise and Shine
I’m up early doing laundry, preparing for a Discovery Toys show at my girlfriend’s house, and waiting for my friend to come and pick up some shea butter from me. And then I’m going running. And it’s 741a EST.

(I DIDN’T LOSE MY POST AFTER ALL! THIS POST IS DATED BY A FEW DAYS, BUT IT’S GOT SOME HAPPY THOUGHTS IN IT ANYWAY)
I’m feeling quite fine today. Got some good life experience wisdom from my mechanic (our battery died yesterday during my foot appt), and got home in time to relieve the nanny. She’s going to spend time with me on Monday to help me figure out how to handle my little suitcases.
I also spent time talking to my family and re-connecting. It’s wonderful to reconnect. I just wish folks lived closer…like in my house. I long for the years of multigenerational living, and hope our country is moving back in that direction. Life is too stressful to handle alone.
I’m sure most of you don’t know this, but I ran my first half marathon Sept 21st. I’m now training for another half on November 23rd. I’m addicted, but at least it’s a healthy addiction.
I had a post all ready to go, but then my computer application froze up and I lost it. Doesn’t sound very happy, does it?
BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE!
I’m training for a half marathon on November 23rd. For those of you who don’t know, I ran the Philadelphia Distance Run (another half marathon) on September 21st. It was 13.1 miles of fun, no lie! We ran through the city and then got on the glorious Fairmount Park loop…8.4 miles of nature and serenity…and a couple hundred other people
But I really enjoyed it and jumped at the chance to run another one. This time it’ll be happening concurrently with the Philadelphia Marathon, so even MORE people on the loop. I’m also running this one with my sister, so it’ll be interesting to see how I run with someone else. I usually like to blast my music and jam away, but that’s not so nice when running with someone else…unless they are doing the same thing, of course.
What other happiness can I share? Oh yeah, I’m getting my eyebrows and nails done today. I’m being treated by my other sister who lives nearby. Can a momma be any happier? And I’m listening to my daughters “napping” on the monitor (read: they are talking to each other and screeching instead of napping). And Daddy’s working from home. I’m happy. This is what happiness is all about
Toldja there’d be a happy post somewhere in here!
Today I have a doctor’s appt to check out my feet and ankles (flat footedness…gotta love it!). Duke’s got an appt an hour before me. Since we have no sitter and can’t afford the nanny for drop in babysitting, I’m bringing the kids to my appt, and waiting for Duke to come from his appt down the street so he can pick up the kids.
Really, does this stuff ever end? The only things keeping me mostly sane are sleep, prescription drugs, exercise, and referring to the children as “suitcases” since I lug them around if I want to go anywhere.
How did our parents do it? Being a partial stay at home mom has caused me more agita than I thought imaginable. I’m RUNNING to find a full time job, and I’ve started a home based business to boot! I feel so much stress at times, all I want to do it have a drink…but I can’t because of my meds.
Only by the Grace of God go I….
(Don’t worry, a cheery post must come sooner or later!)
Yes folks, the once and future preggo monster is back, complete with the Wonder Twins and SuperDaddy!
I’ve decided to start blogging again because, well, it feeds my soul. So much has happened (and continues happening!) every day, it really helps me to write it down and share it with you, my wonderful readers.
Maybe one day all this will be a book. One can only hope, huh? We need all the help I can get!
That’s all for now. Just a teaser post to let you know SHE’S BACK!
See you soon….
With the recent move, the unpacking and the explosion decorating theme we seem to be adopting, I have only now been able to get our pictures online. We haven’t been taking all that many anyway, but now at least we can put what we have online. We have three backlog galleries, located here, here and here. Recently Grandma Schnolis came for a visit, and took the girls to have their photos taken (in some very pretty dresses from Kathy K.) and you can see those pictures here.
Today is Saturday, September 8, 2007…I’m sitting in the living room of my new home, while Duke and Amaya blow raspberries at each other in the couch. My mom and dad are dying their hair black (you didn’t hear that from me) in the bathroom, and Zoey is asleep in the pack and play.
Ain’t life grand?
We are so extremely blessed to be where we are today. After making it through all we’ve been through, to realize it’s been less than one year and we’re where we are today?? It’s nothing short of amazing.
Gotta run…Amaya wants to play!
Move being the operative word! It’s been so long since I’ve been on this site…I’M BACK!!! Right now I’m blogging at my desk in my brand new OFFICE SPACE…yes, mama’s back to work!! YEEHOOO! I’m working part time as an admin assistant in the department of Pathology at Penn. I’m working with the morgue attendant keeping track of the cadavers that are donated for the medical and dental schools. It sounds morbid, but it’s very fascinating and certainly niche work. And the hours are great! I work three days a week, two full days and one half day, for a total of 20 hours a week. Today’s my second day in my first week, and so far so GREAT!
Well, we’ve been a little busy this summer, but here are some more pictures of the Schnolis Twins.
We also managed to find time and money to buy a house! It’s located in the same neighborhood we have lived in for years, which is great.

I have every intention of posting more pictures of the house online, but probably not until next month. This month we’re moving, and cleaning, and packing, and planning, and everything else that goes into making this transition a success. So wish us all luck…we’ll need it!
They’re both growing up right before our eyes. Zoey started standing up in her crib last week, so we lowered the mattress. Then yesterday we found Amaya standing up and contemplating exploring the world outside and chewing on the wood of her cirb. So today I lowered her mattress so neither of them can make an escape. We’ve got more pictures up in a new photo gallery, so check them out when you get a chance. We’ve got lots of great photos this time, including some of the girls trying to eat some carrots and succeeding only somewhat. They tried on their baseball caps and looked pretty cute, too.
Is this not cuteness incarnate??
